main character–russel Crowe plays a part that fits this article to a tee
hard to say no

I know this is often cited, but I personally don’t agree. I find that intuition can get people in a lot of trouble. It is the intellect that has a greater ability to be objective about the direction one is about to go in.

When people are about to rob a bank or do something stupid, it was their heart or passion that drove them to do the act (though this may not be exactly comparable to intuition). Had they really thought (intellect) about the behavior they were going to involve themselves in, they may have opted to go a different direction.

It is very true that some of the wisest teachers are also the least well-known. Someone who is not controlled by their ego is not interested in fame. For someone who is only interested in making conscious contact with spirit, how they are perceived by the world does not matter. Very interesting words!

Nice piece, Victoria! I like this especially: “Choosing what you have, sharing what you know, and being who you are with all of your wisdom and skills are some of the first steps in this process.”

This has always been my philosophy in life. If we also share that we really “don’t know” anything, this fosters beginner’s mind… opens up new possibilities, new relationships (less polarization of conflicting ideas), and more community.

Glad you like it Arlene! My son designed it for me…in fact he does ALL of my web stuff.

Haven’t really thought much about making money with it…for me it’s a labor of love and a way to capture my reflections and experiences as they come through.

I HAVE thought of publishing the posts in a book. Just haven’t taken all the steps to make that happen yet.

I am going to move my blog onto Wordpress. Weebly has failed to publish several of my pages due to a bug or something. Its not very well organized either. This is very smart looking.

Yes, the caregiver and the teacher caring for the very old and the very young offer protection and safety and guidance. However, that same caregiver can sometimes take that position of power over others too far…strapping someone to a bed or injecting them with a heavy sedative or worse. Those same teachers can also be overly controlling, interfering with a child’s innate curiosity and natural love of learning.

A fine balance indeed between independence and dependence must be struck, and even then, we can slip and fall.
